Pros: The new android app is very cool and stable. Very few forced closes. New cool feature lets you see live traffic cameras of all the roads. Waited a long time for this but it is well worth it. I initially used e Phantomalert on my Tomtom. It’s nice now that I can use it on multiple devices. So far no tickets and I plan on keeping it that way. Service has been very reliable and helpful. Most of all I like the fact they answer their phones. Nice to know that there are actual people behind the company. Database seems to be accurate. Their speed trap and camera database is clearly the biggest and up to date and this app makes it even more accessible. I like the fact that you can add new locations that are missing and immediately download them. I don’t understand why some people don’t like this feature. The database is community generated. You are supposed to add and vote. I think it onlu makes it bigger and better.
Cons: more people need to report locations. I know the android app is new nut on the next version they should let us add or delete POIS right from the app
Recommendation: The trick is to leave your gps turned on all the time and alerts will come through just in time to save you from a ticket. Update your device regularly. Over all the service is worthwhile and will get better I hope they will around for a while. $99.99 for a lifetime is reasonalble as long as they are around to honor it.

/ June 15, 2010OMG! Loved it. Its accurate, clever and saves me from those annoying speed cameras. Driving 6 kids around and making sure getting them to soccer and all their practice on time is not easy.
Once I got the Phantomalert in my TomTom, no matter how much my kids get loud or distracting, the alert is loud and specific enough to let me know when I need to slow down and whats coming up ahead in advance so I can avoid getting an expensive ticket. Who can afforded a $100 ticket every time you get flashed? My husband has been laid off for months now and we are tight on money.. I think it is underhanded to nab people for going a few miles over and extorting money from them. I also like the alerts for the school zones. I wish all cars had it installed. I would feel my kids were safe near school. What they need is to also add “speed bump” alerts. Hate going over one when I not paying attention.
